Concluding Women's History Month & Reading Month

During the month of March, The Writers’ Block highlighted two important women who show true courage, understanding, and love in their writing pieces. Throughout this month, The Writers’ Block hopes readers learned from these women as well as took their time to research other amazing women writers who have changed the world.

With the month of March coming to a close, Women’s History Month and Reading Month are two events that should be spoken about even after the month is over. Women’s history should be appreciated because it took a long time for women to have their own freedom let alone have a month for it. During other months, readers should check out how many authors they read that are male or female. If there are more male authors, that person should invest in reading more women authors and indulge in the experiences.

Reading Month helps encourage other people, big or small, to pick up a book and read. Reading helps stimulate the brain as well as helping gain knowledge of different topics and perspectives. As the generations grow, it’s harder to see people read or even want to willingly.

Reading is a crucial part of literature. In order to understand anything, reading is involved. When reading, there are many benefits that can come from it. One being gaining better vocabulary. While reading, it is important to look for words that are unfamiliar in order to understand the meaning of the text more fluently.

With all things considered, Women’s History Month and Reading Month encourages research and reading that can benefit the future of anyone. It is amazing to learn new things and important to the growth of young minds like myself.
