About Me :)

Hello Kean University! My name is Aaisha Monroe, and I am the newest blog writer intern at the Kean English Studies Department.

When applying to Kean University, I was looking for a certain connection. A study that popped but was within my comfort range. The Kean School of English Studies has a wonderful and comforting welcome. The Professors are open and expressive which allows for a comfortable flow of learning.

Growing up I didn’t have this option; I was never comfortable with speaking with my teachers because they never gave me the environment to do so. That’s why writing was such a huge part in my development. When I wrote, I felt like I was able to communicate without judgment. I was able to turn my frustration into short stories as well as other emotions.

As I began high school, I distanced myself from writing short stories for a chance to write and create wonderful poems. Soon after, poetry became my only form of communication. I expressed everything when I wrote poetry. I grew friendship because of it and there are so many styles and interpretations, the theories are endless sometimes. My love for poetry and short story writing fueled my passion to become an English major at Kean University.

Becoming a blog writer for The Kean School of English Studies will encourage my future and allow for learning and growth. I am so excited to share content with you guys and stir up conversations as well as informative talks.
